My name is L’Aurora Mazzitelli, and I’m a dedicated student, narrative designer, writer, and avid gamer with a profound passion for interactive storytelling.
My journey through academia has been a quest to explore the art of narrative design in the gaming world. I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in New Media and Digital Culture at Utrecht University in The Netherlands, with a specialization in game and play studies, focusing on narrative design. My fascination with storytelling began during my undergraduate studies in Communications & Multimedia Design at Avans in Breda. It was there that I discovered my true passion for crafting immersive stories and characters. Continuing my academic journey, I delved into the realm of English Language & Culture with a concentration on literature at Leiden University. Alongside earning my bachelor’s degree, I proudly received an honours certificate in creative writing.
Currently, I’m eagerly seeking either a junior position or a traineeship in the game industry to complement my theoretical knowledge with more hands-on experience. While I’ve honed my skills in narrative design and created small interactive stories, I recognize the importance of gaining technical expertise from within the industry. Rest assured, my adaptability and determination drive me to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in any project. I have also recently successfully finished my research internship at the marketing company Game Drive as a Game Marketing intern.
What truly ignites my creativity is the power of games that transform players into storytellers themselves. Games that linger in your thoughts, making you yearn for more, are the ones that inspire me most. It’s these very games that I aspire to contribute to, crafting experiences that leave a lasting impact.
Some of my all-time favourite games include the epic Dragon Age series by Bioware, the charming Undertale by Toby Fox, the immersive worlds of Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix, the narrative beauty of Firewatch by Campo Santo, and the highly anticipated Elden Ring by FromSoftware.
I’m here to bring stories to life, to build worlds that players can lose themselves in, and to create characters that resonate deeply.
