Character Design Document

I created this detailed character design document for my Vampire: The Masquarade (VtM) Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP) character, Davide Di Salvo, envisioning her as a character in an action RPG. Despite not yet having the opportunity to work on a game, I wanted to showcase my approach to creating characters.

Design Approach

Drawing inspiration from the rich lore of VtM and the intricacies of LARP gameplay, I crafted Davide’s character sheet as if it were for a video game protagonist. Each section—from attributes and abilities to disciplines and backstory—was developed with the aim of capturing both the essence of the character and some of the gameplay mechanics that would define her role in a the game.

Why This Design?

Creating Davide’s design document allowed me to explore the intersection of narrative depth and gameplay mechanics. By translating her backstory, strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations into a structured format akin to a video game character sheet, I aimed to demonstrate my ability to blend storytelling with game design principles.

Future Aspirations

While this document represents a character originally intended for LARP, my ultimate goal is to apply these skills and insights to game development projects. I aspire to contribute to the creation of immersive experiences where characters like Davide can come to life, offering players compelling narratives and engaging gameplay mechanics.
